Duncan meets Squid
Evan's friend Heidi brought Squid the greyhound to meet Duncan. Squid behaved like a perfect gentleman. He inspected and approved all of Duncan's toys, checked out the entire house, then tried to nap a bit. Duncan? Well, that little blur on the right of the photo is pretty much typical of his behavior. He was so excited to have a new doggy friend that he kept bouncing around trying to play. Squid had to give the young whippersnapper a couple of reminders about personal space and respecting one's elders, but on the whole the visit went very well.
Week One
It's a big change for a little guy, moving away from home. Duncan was one of nine puppies in his first home, with four brothers and four sisters. Suddenly he found himself in a whole new family, with only 2 human sisters and a human brother.
His first day was busy. There were leaves to play in.
A new sister to meet (and a brother, and another sister to come). Plus a new friend, Murphy (over the fence).
And new napping places to discover.
Over the next few days, there were visitors. They brought toys.
And a visit to the vet, where he met his first cat. Lucy is possibly the world's most patient cat, and she let Duncan lick her face with only a slight grimace. (I wish we'd thought to get a photo of that! Maybe next time.) He may be in for a surprise when he meets his second cat!
